Working together live
On the web
Everybody in a workspace works in the same MORR at the same moment. Open a note, the wall or the pipeline while a teammate has it open and you see each other: their face, their pointer or caret with their name on it, and every change as they make it. Nothing is locked and nothing needs a refresh, so a team can put the board up in a meeting and all work on it at once.

Who is here
| Where | What you see |
|---|---|
| Top of every screen | The faces of everybody with the workspace open. Hover for where each of them is. Nothing at all when you are alone. |
| A note | Faces in its header, with a pulse on whoever is typing, and each person's caret and selection in their color with their name. The list shows faces on the notes people have open. |
| The wall | Everybody's pointer with their name. A card somebody drags glides across your screen as they drag it, and the cards each person has in hand are outlined in their color. |
| The pipeline board | Pointers with names. A card somebody picks up is outlined in their color, saying who is moving it, and lands in its new column on your screen the moment they drop it. |
| The table | The same moves and edits, as they happen, and faces on the rows people have open. |
| An open card | Who else has it open, in its header, and Dana is editing the brief over the brief, which is written together the same way a note is. |
| The calendar | A post somebody has open wears their face on its card. |

Writing together
Two people can type in the same paragraph, even the same sentence, and every keystroke from each of you is kept: the words are merged letter by letter, not by whoever saved last. ⌘Z undoes your own typing, never a teammate's. The toolbar and the shortcuts are the ones in Notes, and the words are still stored as plain Markdown, so search, the assistant and the phone read exactly what is on screen.
When the connection drops
The line at the top of a note or a brief says what is happening to your words. Keep writing through all of it.
| It says | What it means |
|---|---|
| Connecting… | Opening. Until it is open the note reads as it was last saved. |
| Saved | Everything you typed is stored and everybody else has it. |
| Offline. 3 edits kept on this computer, sent when you reconnect. | Keep going. Your edits are kept in this browser, even through a reload, and when the connection is back they are merged with whatever your team wrote meanwhile. Nothing on either side is overwritten. |
| Reconnecting… | The connection blinked and is coming back by itself. Your edits are kept, not lost. |
| Deleted by a teammate | Somebody deleted it while you had it open. The words stay on screen with Copy the words, and the note can be brought back from the Trash in Projects for 30 days. |
| You no longer have access | You were removed from the workspace, or made a viewer, while it was open. What you typed stays on this computer and is sent if you are added back. |
| View only | A viewer sees everybody's carets and changes live, and cannot type. |
Two people, one card
On the wall, each move is one card's change. Moving different cards never gets in each other's way. When two people drop the same card at nearly the same moment, the later drop wins, the same way on every screen, and a card somebody unpins stays off the wall even if a teammate's slower move of it arrives afterward. On the board the same card goes where it was last dropped.
