Research
Find the ads
The ads running on a product, a promise or a brand are the cheapest research there is. An ad that has run for ninety days is an ad that pays for itself: somebody already spent the money finding out which hook and which offer work. Find ads on Ideas reads that shelf. Type a brand or an app (ecoGPT, Notion) and the pull is that advertiser’s ads, longest-running first, with nothing else in the way; type a promise (stop losing receipts) and it is every ad making it. Short queries match as a whole phrase, so a name does not come back as every ad that shares a syllable with it.
- 1Press Find adsBeside Study a creator in the sidebar. Type a product, a promise or a brand, the way a person would search for it. Brands MORR has already read appear under the box as you type, with their logos; pick one to get that advertiser's own ads, by their page.
- 2Wait under a minuteIt searches the Meta Ad Library for the ads running on that phrase right now, across Facebook and Instagram, in every country.
- 3Read the long-runners firstTop sorts by days running. The button on each ad and where it goes are printed under it.
An ad is a post on the web like any other: press play, get the words, Break it down for the hook and the beats, pin it to the wall, talk it over in the chat. The one number an ad has that a post does not, how long it has been up, is the one worth reading.
| Under an ad | Means |
|---|---|
| 84 days running | Up since that many days ago, and still up |
| Shop now, Learn more | The button on the ad |
| brand.com | Where the button goes |
| facebook, instagram | Where Meta showed it |
The advertiser’s name on any ad opens the company behind it: its site, its apps with the numbers, the accounts it posts from, and the links out of its site. See Companies and apps. Find their ads on that profile pulls every ad running from their Meta page, not only the ones a phrase turned up. Pick ads there and Write the brief reads the ones you picked as one campaign: the look, the feel, the hooks, the offer, and a brief to shoot from, saved to the sidebar as a note.
