Importing from Google Drive

On the web

Every Upload on the web has From Google Drive: in Projects, in the media picker and on a post's media. Open a folder, pick photos and videos, and they land in Projects like any upload.

  1. 1Upload → From Google DriveThe first time, Connect Google Drive opens Google in a new tab to ask. Come back and your Drive is there, no refresh needed.
  2. 2Find the filesMy Drive or Shared with me, then click into folders; the trail above the grid goes back up. Search looks through your whole Drive by name. Documents are left out: only folders, photos and videos show.
  3. 3Pick, then ImportClick to pick, as many as you like from as many folders as you like. Import brings them in one after another, with how far each has got. Double-click brings one in straight away.
WhatWhat happens
A photoComes in at most 2,560 pixels on its long edge, the same as a photo dropped on the page. A HEIC or RAW file arrives as a JPEG every browser can draw.
A GIFComes in as it is, so it still moves.
A videoComes over in pieces, so a big one is not refused for being big. It gets a still for its tile, like one from the phone.
Over 1 GBShown, dimmed, with Over 1 GB: that is the library's own ceiling for any one file, however it arrives. Export a shorter or smaller cut into Drive and bring that in.

With a folder open in Projects, what you import goes into it. Imports count toward your monthly uploads exactly like a file you drop in. If one does not come in, the dialog says which and why, keeps what did, and offers to try the rest again.
