Pipeline

A card, open

On the web

Click a card to open everything about that one video: the work on the left in the order it happens, and the conversation on the right. Nothing on it has a save button; every change is written as you make it. Everybody with the card open is in its header, and a move or an edit lands on their screen the moment you make it. See Working together live.

PartWhat it is for
BriefThe angle, the hook, the references, what the brand asked for. The script is written from this and the title. Several people can write it at once; the line over it says who is.
CampaignThe brand campaign or launch it is part of, at most one. Choose one, or New campaign to make one from here. See Campaigns.
SeriesThe recurring series it is an episode of, at most one, so the series knows what is planned this week. See Series.
FromThe idea or the brainstorm it was made from, one click back to it.
NotesThe workspace notes it links: the brief, the brand's voice, the call. Link a note picks one or starts one for this card. Not the notes on a cut, which are in Review.
ScriptOptional. Write the script writes one in your voice, short form (up to three minutes) or long form (three to thirty minutes, written a section at a time). Write it myself starts a blank one. Either way it lives in Scripts, so the phone's prompter can read it.
ReviewEvery cut, numbered v1, v2, v3, frame-accurate: a note pins to the exact millisecond and shows which frame that is. Upload a video, a picture or a PDF (reviewed page by page) from your computer or pick from your library; each upload lands in the library too, ready to post. Or Link Frame.io, and the editor's cuts arrive by themselves; see Frame.io.
TasksA checklist with a person and a date on each item.
ApprovalWho has to say yes before it moves on. Add a client by email and Email it opens a message in your own mail app with their link; they approve or ask for changes without an account. When the status has an approval ladder set up, this shows the ladder instead: named people or a role, in order, one at a time, then the client on the link. See Statuses and approvals.
ExportComments as a Premiere Pro marker file or a DaVinci Resolve subtitle track, and a PDF report with a frame still per comment. Pick a version; the notes on it are grouped by round on the left, the three files on the right.
Files from the clientWhat you asked the client to send, and what they sent. See Share work with a client.
Calendar and brand dealSchedule, and the brand deliverable this video is for.
ChannelThe card's own chat with everyone on it, internal only. See Channels.

The row under the title (Brief · Notes · Script · Review · Tasks · Approval · Export · Files · Calendar · Channel) jumps to any part, and counts the cuts and the checklist as it goes. The header says where the sign-off stands beside the status, so nobody scrolls to find out, and Share with a client there makes the link a client reviews it on.

A card opens on what matters now: one in a Review column opens on the cuts, one waiting on a sign-off opens on Approval. A link from a notification lands on the task, comment or cut it named and lights it for a moment, so the eye knows where to go.

Notes on a cut

  1. 1Play the cut and pause on the momentThe play button is at the left of the transport row under the player, and clicking the picture or pressing Space does the same. The frame pill (F00521) beside the clock names the exact frame, read at the cut's own fps.
  2. 2Pick what kind of mark you are leavingComment for words, Draw to mark the frame itself (pen, arrow, rectangle or circle, undo one stroke at a time), Voice to record a memo, Range to mark a span rather than an instant (click again where it ends), or Attach for a file. The camera button grabs the paused frame straight into the note.
  3. 3Write what should changeEvery mark pins to the moment it was made on, or the page for a document. Internal keeps a note off every client link. The team still sees it, marked so.
  4. 4Jump back to itEvery note is a mark on the scrubber, with the author's picture on it; a range is a short bar instead of a dot. Clicking a mark, a note's time, or a word in the transcript puts the player there.
  5. 5React, reply or resolve itThe quick-emoji row reacts to whatever is playing; clicking an existing reaction on a note adds or takes back yours. Reply answers in a thread, collapsed behind its count until opened. The check resolves it; the filter row (All · Open · Resolved) shows what you asked for.

The scrubber is the only one, on purpose: every mark is on it, so the bar that moves is the bar that shows them. The version filter beside the comment list switches between This version's notes and All versions', each one saying which cut it was left on, so a note does not go stale just because a new cut landed. Delete v2 beside the version numbers removes the cut you are looking at, with its notes; the file stays in your library.

Compare two cuts

Compare versions opens a full-width screen with two cuts side by side, or, in Compare, a wipe line you drag across the same frame to see exactly what moved between them. Sync Play keeps both from drifting apart, Swap flips which side is which, and one shared transport under both controls them together. The comments column stays the same list: resolve, replies, reactions and voice memos travel with it, scoped to the cut on the left. Approve, Download and Share are the same actions the card's header offers, without leaving the comparison.

Quality

The settings gear beside the transport row opens Quality alongside the speed and fps controls, under a video cut. It only ever lists a size that has actually finished: Original plus whichever of 480p, 1080p and 4K are ready. On a workspace with no transcoding provider set up, it says so plainly ("Playing the original file. Quality proxies aren't set up for this workspace yet.") and plays the original, same as it always has; nothing about reviewing or approving a cut depends on a proxy existing.

The transcript

The Transcript tab reads a video cut's words with Whisper, each one timed. Click a word to jump the player there; click one, then shift-click another, to select a run of them and comment on exactly what was said; the range fills in on its own. A document cut has no transcript tab; its Post tab and Brief tab work the same as a video's, and a card's brief reads here even before the first cut is uploaded.

Activity

The log on the right has two tabs. Private is the team: every move, upload, task and sign-off, written as it happens, with the team's comments in between. Public is only the comments written for a client. The box says which audience you are writing to before anything is sent. Type @ to name someone on the workspace, and Reply under a comment to answer it in a thread.

Schedule

Schedule opens the composer with the latest cut attached and the card's title as the caption. Pick the channels and the time and save: the card moves to the column marked On the calendar, and when the post goes out, the card moves to Published by itself. Open the post on the card goes straight to it on the calendar. The way back works from anywhere: open that post from Studio or the calendar and a line at the top of the composer says From the pipeline card, with Open the card beside it, to the same brief, script, cuts, tasks and sign-off.

Brand deliverable attaches the card to a deliverable from a brand program you were accepted to on Jobs, so the video and the brand work it is for are one thing.

Once the card is in Published, Send the client a report makes a report link and Make another like this starts a brainstorm with this video pinned at the top, in its series.
