Notifications

Notifications is the list of what happened to your work while you were somewhere else: an approval asked of you, a task, a reply, a post that went out or failed, a brand writing, a lead on your page. Open it from Notifications at the foot of the sidebar, or on the phone from the bell on Home or More in the tabs, which carries a dot when something is new.

Repeats come as one

Three comments on the same card while you were away arrive as one row, 3 new comments on “Studio tour”, with the names of who wrote them, not three rows. The same goes for comments on one of your posts, notes on one cut, leads on your page and sales of one product. The row moves to the top each time and counts; once you read it, the next one starts a new row. An email waits for the count to settle, and the phone rings once for the burst.

Action required

A row marked Action required is waiting on you, and sits at the top of the new ones. The marker is not something you clear by hand: approve or reject the card, tick the task, answer the question, reconnect the channel or get the post out, and it comes off by itself. That is what makes Needs you on the full page a list you can trust as a to-do list.

Opening one

  1. 1Click the rowIt opens the exact thing: the card on the pipeline, the post in the composer, the comments on your post in the Inbox, or the brand's thread in Jobs.
  2. 2It switches workspace if it has toA mention in a client's workspace opens in that workspace, so the card is there when you arrive. The row names the workspace when it is not the one on screen.
  3. 3Opening it reads itThe blue dot goes, on every device you are signed in on. Click the dot on any row to flip it read or unread without opening it, or right-click the row for Mark unread.

The drawer is for a glance while something else is open: Mark all read sits beside its title and See all, at its foot, opens the full page. The page has All, Needs you and Unread, and files what you have read under Today, Yesterday, This week and Earlier. An empty Needs you is good news; See everything takes you back to All.

Choosing what reaches you

Settings → Notifications has a row per kind and a switch for each place it can arrive: In MORR (this list), Email, and Phone. With more than one workspace, Only a given workspace gives that workspace its own rules, for the client whose every comment you want by email; the rest follow your account.

WhereHow it behaves
In MORRArrives the moment it happens, on every open tab. Off, that kind stops appearing in the list
EmailWhat waits on you is sent a minute after it happens, and skipped if you read it in MORR in that minute. Quieter news (a comment on a card, a new applicant, a lead's follow-up) comes together in one daily digest. A post that went out fine is never emailed; one that failed is
PhoneFor the iPhone app. Push alerts are not switched on yet, which is what the Soon beside the column says; this is what they will follow when they are

Quiet hours and the daily digest

Under the switches, When it reaches you sets your clock. Both follow your own time zone, which MORR takes from the device you used last until you pick one.

SettingWhat it does
Quiet hoursFrom and to, such as 22:00 to 08:00. Phone alerts wait until they end. Urgent news (a post that failed, a payment, a channel that broke) still arrives, without a sound, so it is there in the morning and nobody was woken
Weekends tooSaturday and Sunday are quiet all day
Daily digestThe quieter email, gathered into one at the hour you pick, 08:00 unless you change it. Anything you read in MORR before then is left out. Off, those stay in MORR and are not emailed
Time zoneWhere your quiet hours and digest hour are counted. Pick one to stop it following the device
Low-credit heads-upsThe small note when your credits or research get low, described under Plans and credits. On until you turn it off, and set for each browser and phone

Muting a workspace

With more than one workspace, Mute a workspace is for the weeks you are not on a client. Choose For a day, For a week or Until I unmute it. Its news is still kept in the list, already read, so nothing is lost, but nothing from it rings, emails or counts on the bell.

Stopping an email from the email

Every notification email ends with Stop emails like this. It works without signing in, switches email off for that kind only (or for the digest), and the page it opens has Undo. Email apps that offer their own unsubscribe button use the same link. Leads and sales on a BioLink page arrive from BioLink, and their link opens on BioLink's own site.
