Products and your Shopify store

On the web

Products is your catalog. Connect your Shopify store once and every product arrives with its pictures, options, prices and stock, and changes here as it changes in Shopify. It exists so a product can go on a program and to a creator's door in one click each, with the stock in front of you when you do.

The store's catalog, with what is running low on the picture itself.

Two tabs: Catalog, below, and Shipping, every parcel on its way to a creator in the order it needs doing: ready to ship (with the address and the tracking form on the row), waiting on an address, on the way, arrived. See The brand workspace for sending one.

Connecting your store

  1. 1Type the store's nameOn Products, or under Settings › Workspace › Store. The name (ridge-coffee), the myshopify address or the link to your Shopify admin all work. A storefront address like ridgecoffee.com does not; the field says where to find the right one.
  2. 2Press Connect ShopifyShopify's own install screen opens in a new tab, so nothing open in MORR is lost. It lists what MORR asks for: to read products, stock and orders.
  3. 3Approve it and come backThe import starts on its own. The line above the grid counts the products as they are read, and they appear as they land. A large store is read in pieces; you can leave the page and it keeps going.

What comes in

On the cardFrom Shopify
The pictureThe product's pictures in the store's order. Hovering a card shows the second one; the panel has the gallery, and when the store holds more than came in (an import reads the first twenty; a change in Shopify sends the rest), it says how many more, with a link to see them.
The priceThe lowest variant's price, or the range when the options cost different amounts.
The stock badgeUnits on hand across every option and every location. See the table below.
OptionsEach variant with its SKU, price and stock, in the panel under Comes in.
The pageThe product's page on your storefront, for Open the product page.
Shopify's markIn the corner of every product that came from the store, so a hand-added one is told apart at a glance.
BadgeMeans
40 in stockFive or more on hand.
3 leftFewer than five. Worth a thought before promising one to every creator on a program.
Sold outNone on hand, or oversold. It can still be sent from samples you hold; the panel says so.
No badgeThe store does not count this product's stock.

Staying current

When this happens in ShopifyProducts
A price, a picture, a title or an option changesChanges within seconds.
Stock moves (a sale, a restock, a count)The badge changes within seconds, across every location.
A product is set to draft or archivedStays, labeled, and leaves the program and parcel pickers.
A product is deletedLeaves the catalog. A parcel already sent keeps the name it went with.
The store is disconnected, or MORR is removed in ShopifyEvery product stays as it last was and stops updating. Connect again and they catch up.

Read it all again on the line above the grid reads every product from the top, for the rare time something needs a full pass; the store's webhooks keep it current in between.

Finding one

ControlWhat it is for
SearchEvery word you type, anywhere on the product: the name, a SKU, an option, the type, a tag, your note. Esc clears it.
All · In stock · Low · Sold outStock at a glance, each with its count. Low is what runs out first if a program goes well.
Every productFrom Shopify or added by hand. Shown when you have both.
SortNewest, name, price, or stock with what needs attention first.
Show hidden and draftsUnder the grid. Hidden products, drafts and archived ones are kept out of sight until you ask.

On a program, and to a creator

  1. 1Open the productClick its card. The panel shows its pictures, what it comes in, and the two things a catalog is for.
  2. 2On a programEvery live program, one click each to put the product on it or take it off. Creators see it on the program's public page before they apply, and it becomes what that program's posts offer to send.
  3. 3Send a sampleEverybody accepted on a live program who has nothing on its way yet, the program's own people first. Send asks that creator for an address in their thread, the same as sending from the post. Deliveries follows it from there.

Yours and the store's

Whose
Name, pictures, price, options, stock, pageThe store's. Change them in Shopify and they change here.
Note for creatorsYours: which size to ask for, how to brew it. The sync never touches it.
Hide from pickersYours. A gift card or shipping protection is in every catalog and is never sent to anyone; gift cards arrive hidden.

A product added by hand before the store was connected is matched to the store's copy when its page link ends in the same product address or its name is the same, and becomes the synced one, keeping its note and every program and parcel that names it, rather than showing up twice. Add by hand is still there for anything the store does not sell.
