Research
Start here
On the web
Open Research with nothing on it yet and you land on Start here: three starts built from what you make, each done in about a minute, each ending on one line that says what to do differently and one obvious next move. It is always one click away at the top of the sidebar.

The three starts
| Start | What it does | Where it lands | What it costs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Study 3 creators like you | Asks the platform's own search who posts about your niche and picks three accounts between 10K and 1M followers that you are not studying yet. Swap anyone with the × | The three, with their pictures and bios. Study all 3 pulls them side by side; once they are in, the line says what their best posts have in common | One research result to find them. Studying is 200 posts each, and the button says how many fit this month before you press it |
| What's working in your niche this week | Searches the niche for its top posts, then counts which opening, length or shape the winners share | One line, like *Posts that open with a number get 3.1× the views here*, and the posts that show it | 60 posts, or nothing if you ran the same search in the last week |
| Steal a format | Ranks posts by how far each beat its own account. Uses your research when three accounts already have a post at 2× or better; otherwise searches your niche | The three to steal from, one per account, with the move named. The best one is broken down on arrival so its format has a real name | One AI credit for the breakdown, plus 60 posts when it has to search |
Where the line comes from
The line on top is counted, never written by AI. Each post is measured against what is typical for its own account, or against views per follower when an account has only one post in the search, so a big account does not win by being big. A trait (opens with a number, a question, POV, how-to, a warning, a callout, a story, talking to *you*; under 15 seconds, over a minute; a carousel; a caption under ten words) only makes the line when at least three posts have it, at least three do not, it shows up on two or more accounts, and the posts with it do at least 1.3× better. When nothing clears that bar, the line says so and points at the best post instead.
The next move
- 1Script thisWrites a script in your voice about your niche, in the shape of the best example, and opens it in Scripts. One AI credit.
- 2Pin to wallPuts the best example on the wall, next to your ideas.
- 3Open any postBrings it up over the page with Words, Break it down and Make it mine, like any other post.
Your niche
Start here looks at the role on your brand card first, then what you picked for *What do you create?* when you signed up. With neither, it asks one question: what do you make videos about. Click the niche to change it, and pick TikTok, Instagram or YouTube beside it. Changing it here only changes what Start here searches; your brand card stays as it is.
Where the other tools went
The feed, the wall, What works, saved posts, breakdowns, the explorers, trending and collections are under Tools in the sidebar. In a new workspace it starts folded so the first thing you see is somewhere to start; it opens with one click, stays the way you left it, and starts open once you have three or more things in Research.
