Connect your channels

A channel is one social account MORR is allowed to post to. Until at least one is connected, you can plan and schedule but nothing will actually go out.

Settings: Channels

This picture is taken from the running app, not drawn by hand. Run npm run docs:shots to take it.

  1. 1Open Settings, then Workspace, then ChannelsOn the phone: Settings, then Channels under Workspace. The Socials card in the sidebar opens the same list.
  2. 2Choose a platformYou are handed to that platform's own sign-in. MORR never sees your password. Bluesky is the exception, below.
  3. 3Approve the permissionsPublishing needs permission to post; the follower counts on Home need permission to read your profile.
  4. 4Come backThe channel appears with its handle and its mark. It is now selectable everywhere a post can be sent.

Bluesky is the one without a sign-in page

Bluesky connects with your handle and an app password, not your account password. Make one in Bluesky under Settings, Privacy and security, App passwords (leave direct messages off), then choose Bluesky in Settings, Workspace, Channels and paste it in. On the phone the same form rises as a sheet. MORR doesn't keep the app password. The service that posts for you does, and you can cancel it any time in Bluesky under App passwords, which stops MORR posting there without touching your account.

A wrong handle or password is said right under the form, with what you typed still there. Bluesky is offered only from Channels: on the web, the composer and setup point there instead of opening a page that does not exist, and on the phone the Home and Studio channel rows leave it off.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn connects your personal profile and posts as you. If LinkedIn answers that a permission is not authorized, signing in again will not change it; tell us, and we fix it on our side.

More than one account

Connect as many as you like. Studio keeps a separate grid per channel plus one account-less My posts grid, so planning for a client never mixes with your own feed.

A client's own accounts

To post for a client without asking for their password, send them a link from Ask a client, under the channel list. They connect their accounts themselves and each one lands here. See Ask a client to connect.

A channel belongs to a workspace

A channel is tied to the workspace it was connected in. Switch to a client's workspace and only that client's channels are listed; a brand workspace starts with none until you connect one from inside it. Channels connected before this rule existed sit in your own workspace, so nothing moved. To put a channel in a different workspace, disconnect it and connect it again from the workspace it belongs to. Each person connects their own accounts: nobody else in a workspace can see or post through yours, which is why a member can connect channels even though the rest of the workspace's setup is read-only to them.
